Is it worth learning French? What are some free resources I could

Other than English no language is really worth learning for the most part. Make up your own mind there.

Go with the standard textbooks, duolingo, and find someone that you can practice the talking part with.

Back on topic, unless you have a job in France or Belguim or plan to live there, no. Not at all. This is coming from a guy whose work consists on sending information to a company in Paris and implementing some of their feedback. Of course we interact in English because nobody cares about french.

At one point I contemplated learning french because I wanted a hobby and it sounds exotic. Then I dropped the idea when I saw how expensive it is to go to a legit school. Some months later I decided french was stupid so I signed up for japanese but I never went to class because again, I realized it doesn't have a real use unless you live in Japan or translate stuff.

You can always learn french but remember that it has limited applications in the real world. If you are okay with that then good luck.

Learning languages will sharpen your brain, it's a great skill to have. I'm learning Korean atm.

depends on what you would want to use it for. nothings really worth doing if you A) dont want to do it and B) have no use for it.
