If i show up to work, but the owner isn't there to unlock the doors/let me in, how long should I wait for them?
I've been here for thirty minutes already

Text them and wait for another 30 mins. If they don't respond back and they still don't show up... depending on the law you could force them to pay you for the time you stayed/travel expenses. Just inform yourself.
