This has happened 3 times already since I met them and now I'm pretty sure that they think I'm avoiding them.

Am i overthinking it? Should I just go to the birthday party despite not being invited by the person whose birthday it is?

Nigga please. I always rocked up to parties without an invite(friends of friends I wasn't just gate-crashing) it become expected for me to be there without an invite. If your not in their immediate friends group, like hang out with them regularly the thought to invite you probably never crosses their mind.
