How can I be a nicer, more calm person?
I'm kind of an angry, bitter, smart ass. I also am quick to lose my temper and raise my voice (although it doesn't happen THAT much, Maybe 2-3 times a month)
I yell at even people I care about sometimes when I get frustrated, Like my wife and my siblings.
Last night I came very close to beating my neighbors ass because his wife drove into my yard turning around and got stuck, Her husband works at a prison so If I had beat his ass that would be a equivalent of a hitting a off duty cop in the judges eyes and I probably would have gone to prison myself.
Then I started to think of how that could have easily escalated to even worst then a fight and a year in prison.
I always feel guilty when I raise my voice with someone so It's not that I don't feel empathy or feel bad, But people just frustrate me and I always think they should know better.
How can I be a more calm person?
You could burn down my father in laws house in front of him and he would still be in a joking mood like he always is, I idolize that guy.
How can I be like him?
Learn to laugh, and openly criticize others.
Don't be like him, be yourself.
First of all OP, do you even exercise? If not then start doing it. It can help you with stress/anxiety/anger/frustration issues. You could try meditation to improve your mood. Lastly, focus on sleep, that helps with the mood a lot,
