For what it's worth, condoms get a bad rep but most of the failure rate is due to worn spots or tearing that are already present before sex. Technically you are supposed to check a condom by holding it up to a light source, to make sure you didn't damage it with your nails while opening the package etc.

And the other way around, the 99% rate usually thrown around for oral BC is assuming perfect use. Which includes, taking it every single day at exactly the same time, which hardly anyone does, and completely rules out any human error. Then there's the issue that too many girls are unaware that vomiting, diarrhea, St. John's wort, antibiotics etc can render the pill useless.

If you account for all this stuff, oral BC isn't really more reliable than condoms.

That's true, however, the margin of error is from different causes. Errors from the pill are caused by being fucking retarded. Errors from condoms can be from one spontaneously breaking, or slipping off.

Therefore, if you aren't a fucking retard who can't set a phone alarm or know basic information, oral birth control is better at preventing pregnancy.

But most people ARE retards, they think they'll remember it, or they get the phone alarm then get distracted thinking "eh, I'll take it in a minute". Or just being young and the best time to take them usually being in the morning, until you get shit faced drunk or trip on acid or whatever and only wake up late in the afternoon. And for condoms you can also personally eliminate the #1 cause for failure. Hell, you can even combine it with spermicide or something.

Yah I did do research, called planned parenthood, and her doctor confirmed that after 48 hours it should be in effect because she was on birth control previously. But the fact the I strapped up does make me feel a lot better for insurance purposes.
