How impossible is it to start a farm in the UK nowadays? Me and a friend are interested in saving up and learning over time with goal of getting our own farm, however I've heard that land is really expensive here.
Look online at the price of agricultural land in the area you want to be in. Then you'll know. Agricultural land is very cheap compared to land you can build on, but will have stipulations on usage and you'll have to consider access and drainage and why locals don't snap it up.

A very bad idea. Small independent farms are rarely economically sustainable. But if you must, don't buy land and start from scratch. Look for an approaching-retirement farmer willing to hire you as a farm hand, teach you the ropes, and eventually sell you the farm.
youre going to need a cool doggo to keep foxes and shit away from your crops. now sauce on that painting?
