What Kind of adult can I become if I can no longer rely on my parents to be role models?
This isn't a burning issue, just please assume my parents have continuously disappointed me since I was a child (I am 23 now) and I have been struggling with becoming my own person for a few years.
How do I have hope?

Think about the best version of yourself. Then strive to be that person.
By assuming other people as role models, instead of your parents. What are your interests in life? Find a couple of famous people who did great in those fields and see if you can see something of yourself in some of them, and try to get that as much as possible out of you, in your everyday life, always considering your specific cirmcumstances which are only your own and have nothing to do with those people you chose as role models.
It is this interplay of your specific situation and the ideals and ways those famous people hold which you can see yourself in, that is ultimately going to shape you into who you are, eventually allowing you to contribute to your interest in a meaningful way .
