I'm 29. I'm about to turn 30. I was a brace-faced megavirgin dork until around age 21, was briefly single and briefly involved with an older woman, and then in a shitty abusive relationship until recently.
Have I completely missed my chance to date young, attractive women in their early 20s? I'm in college now and on more than one occasion I've overheard convos between girls about how creepy it is when men in their late 20s try to hit on them. The thing is with some exceptions I'm usually not attracted to women my own age and also feel like I'm likely to have very little in common with them since I've spent the last decade sacrificing my own development to be a caretaker and I'm only now just really getting my life going. But apparently going after college girls makes me a creep. Am I pretty much fucked unless/until I can get my career going and my feet back under me and also learn to appreciate older women? For that matter is there any chance I can get something approaching a normal social life in general going? I was also medicated and heavily monitored in high school so I feel like I basically just completely skipped over my teens and 20s in terms of life experience. A lot of the time when I see young couples or groups of younger guys hanging out I feel desperately jealous, I want their lives so badly.

Here's some harsh insight for you.
"Creepy" is female codeword for "unatractive".
These women you overhead probably have been hit on by (what they perceive as) low tier man.
The solution for your case is then to aim accordingly, be atractive or have traits desirable for a female non apearance related.

If they're immature enough to think of it that way even when you were born within the same decade, then they would be a waste of your time anyway. Some women act like age is the most important thing. These same girls were dreaming about college aged guys as teens. If they didn't grow up enough to realize a 5-10 year difference isn't really a big deal then you probably wouldn't find something lasting with one of them anyway. There are definitely mature younger women that will date an older men. Just as there are plenty of young men who like older women
