What do I do if college isn't for me?

I thought about going to a trade school for welding but didn't want to do manual labor until I'm 60.

Sounds to me like you`re like me, OP - you`re having trouble with STEM because you`re more of a humanities guy, but humanities are stupid and useless (at least in my/your opinion) so you stick with stuff you don`t really understand.

Exactly, I don't want to have to live paycheck to paycheck but the only majors that are remotely interesting to me have a median salary of $20-$40k

Go to community college, get assoc degree, this should land you significantly less debt, then just go work in that low paid field and hopefully whoever you work for can help pay for the next two
