Can someone please help me understand this?
I'm emailing back and forth with a contractor. He's a copywriter.
>me: What is your hourly rate?
>copywrighter: My rate is $125/hr. Since my work is twice as good as other freelancers, its's really like you're paying $62.50. I suppose :^)
>me: I'm sorry, is you're hourly rate $62.50 or $125?
>copywriter: Sorry for the confusion, my hourly rate is $125. just a little copywriter humor.
I don't understand this joke about being twice as good and being half the cost. Is he just an idiot trying to be funny or am I the idiot who doesn't understand this joke?

basically hes saying that hes SO GOOD that he will get the job done in half the time that other do, so you're getting the same amount of work as anywhere else, but it gets done quicker. so someone charging say, 100 bucks an hour would do it slower than him and you'd be losing money on them.
it was a joke tho
$125 = 2 units of work
Not that hard to understand OP

Tad bit of the autism there lad
It was a joke, and it was a good one too. I feel bad for the guy.
It's $125.
You're the idiot.
Fuck me since when do copywriters charge $60/hour?
Round here they charge by the word count and complexity, not by the hour, because it's up to them to complete it in a timely manner.

A smug copywriter, why am I not suprised.
It was a joke and you're an idiot for not getting it, however his smugness makes it a pretty fucking shit joke. You should bollock him for not being professional to wipe that smug shit eating grin off his face
