Hey /adv/,
So I graduated from college with a BA in Geography about a year ago, and haven't been able to find a real job with my useless degree.
Should I just bite the bullet and go back to school and get a (Associate's?) degree in engineering or some other challenging field?
Do you think that me going back to pursue another degree is a waste of time and money, or would the payoff be worth it in the end?

to add on to this, my GPA likely isn't good enough for graduate school. Plus, even getting a Master's in a field related to geography is a gamble.

Spread your job hunting net wider. There are a lot of fields that don't seem obviously related to geography where your knowledge can be an asset. Think "What do I have that I can bring to an emplyer that he doesn't realize he wants?"

Stop being picky about getting a job in your field of study. Get a shit job and keep looking until you find a better one.

Hey, fellow Geographer from central europe here. You sound american, so I can't give you much advice. Just this much:
1. Here it's a BSc
2. Here you're supposed to get a master for anything more than an internship.
3. As you know, geography is a ridicoulusly wide field. Like >>18031101 has pointed out, you want to apply to all kinds of jobs.
I'd say you have 3 options
>Get a walmart tier job and keep applying for 'dream jobs'
>Apply for wider range of positions. Museums. National Geographic. History Channel. University Geo. Depts.
>Apply for basic Govt positions in non field related positions that only require a degree and basic computer skills

Do whatever you want to do
People telling you to get a job are jealous little small-dicked pricks who didn't follow their own passions in life
Follow your passions my friend
