OP don't feel bad about your response, when I got punched kicked slapped scratched and bitten I never felt more powerless despite being able to crush her throat like an insect lmao. I drove off and slept in my car at a nearby McDonald's that night only to awake to her tapping in my window she seemed to have cooled down so I let her in, I said to her If you ever hit me again I will divorce you on the spot and I demanded the she promise to never ever do it again.
