Armyfag here,

It depends what you want to do. I'm a 25B (IT Specialist, computer nerd, help desk monkey) and I'm coming up on my 2.5th year soon. I've only been to one duty station so far but honestly I love my job. It's working with other people that can be a pain in the ass. You'll have to get used to being jerked around a lot when it comes to things like support missions and other taskings that come down from higher, but it depends on the unit.

I think you'll have better luck doing aviation in the army, but don't quote me on that. I've worked with a few pilots and mechanics and such on our airfield and they seem to enjoy it. I have no idea what the Navy is like though.

Depends

Do you like boats

The Navy will give you more skills to use outside of the military if you choose to become a civilian once you've served your time. The Navy and Airforce are your best bet for something like that. Being in the Navy has more respect than being in the Airforce, those pretty boy flyboys have it easy.

Former Navyfag BMSN deck ape.

Don't join. Got out Honorably and I am now homeless. Every job I applied for said I was over qualified. I live at a shelter for vets and I am waiting for my background check for a shipyard job. The GI bill, in my opinion, isn't really worth it since my goal now is to become a LVN. Cost is around $1,800 for schooling.

On the plus side I've been around the whole Pacific region. Visited Philippines, South Korea, Guam, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and San Diego.

Armyfag >>17998891 is right about working with other people. You either work with a wonderful person who will help you out or a person who just doesn't pull his/her weight and collects their checks like a welfare fucktard.

I was on an Aircraft carrier and the Air guys seemed to love their job. They had a lot more morale than use guys who lived and took care of the ship.

Also, even though the Navy has been doing the Air forces job even before WWII, I recommend joining the Airforce or Coastguard even. They have a higher morale rate with the same general Military benefits.
