My mother died awhile back. Since my moms death I haven't been able to sleep at night and I just want to sleep. What can I try to help me get some fucking sleep?
A pillow and a blanket.

Try taking Ambien for sleep. Also here's an article on sleep meds. Rest well anon.

If you are to go the pharma route like this kind anon suggested, make sure it's for short term use. Many sleep aids and anxiety medications have been shown to cause Alzheimer’s when used long term.

Breathing exercises help
Breathe in for 4 seconds, breathe out for 8 seconds. Repeat until sleeping.
I'm so sorry for your loss OP.
Tried some weed?
Cry some ,eat some, jerk off and go to bed?

Well, that's not the greatest of news for me. I haven't been able to sleep without sleeping pills for years. I take a ton of them (usually several every day). Whatever. I'm not planning to live to old age anyway.
Or do those dangers only apply to prescription sleeping pills? The ones I use are over-the-counter.

Should probably clarify that I'm not the OP.

OP here. I didn't know sleep aids caused Alzheimers. Learn something new everyday.

I've tried smoking weed to sleep but it just makes me too paranoid to sleep and it makes me focus on my mom's death somehow.

Wrong weed. Smoke the other type. (There's only two)

do not assume OTC means safe over the long term. there are many things legal over the counter that i wouldn't put into my body once.
if you're using anything acetaminophen/paracetamol you are risking serious liver damage and in fact this substance puts more people into the hospital than heroin and methamphetamine put together
nyquil contains APAP standard, as does tylenol.
diphenhydramine or benadryl is probably safe at whatever dose you're taking it but i wouldn't increase it any further.
doxylamine is more potent as a sleep aid than DPH and is also in nyquil but you should probably get it straight
don't do benzodiazepines or z-drugs
melatonin is good as an adjunct
You didn't fucking listen to "Reply to this post or your mother will die" posts now did you?

The stuff I take is diphenhydramine HCl, in 50mg softgels. I probably take at least four of them every day.
Read A Very Easy Death by Simone de Beauvoir, it'll help.

I'll admit that I haven't read that particular book, but I don't see how something written by an existentialist would make someone feel *better* about death.
