I have no motivation anymore.

I used to be in college, doing new things every day. Now I'm almost thirty, and have no motivation to do anything but my dead-end job.

I need stimulation. I need my spark back.

Do you come home from work and plop right down on the couch? Stop doing that
>>
>>17986035
It's all I have the energy to do.
>>
>>17986052
What is your job?
>>
>>17986061
Bakery grunt. It sucks ass.

What would you do if the cable was out?

Sounds like you're anesthetizing yourself at the end of the day. I imagine it's a painful prospect, but if the distractions weren't there, maybe you would find the energy.

Maybe you'd just go to sleep, but wake up earlier the next day and more energized.
Maybe you'd stay up all night thinking angry thoughts.
Maybe you'd pick up a pencil and paper and write something down that ends up making a difference in your life.
But chances are, something would change. Isn't that what you want?

I don't know how to stop.

I'm even doing it right now, wasting time on 4chan.

Start small. Do something for 30 minutes before you settle down for the day

There are some strategies you could use to curb your use over time.
The best thing you can do is be aware of your behavior. Start by downloading a productivity app or using a desk calendar. Simply record how many hours you spend consuming screen-time.
If you make a goal to limit yourself to a particular number of hours, especially within a set frame of time, or in improving increments, this helps.

If you don't think you can control your behavior in the moment, let your long-term thinking make decisions. Cancel your cable. Sell your TV. Maybe even join a 12 step program, if you think it's necessary.

I doubt drastic measures are necessary. But only you know what you have to lose, if you don't make changes.

Why not join the military for a good challenge and stimulation? Open room for advancement is an awesome motivator. Plus you already got a college degree, you can start off as officer!
>>
I was thinking of trying to exercise in the morning to get less depressed.
>>
>>17986182
Do some Yoga. It's not intense exercise and really just a little stretching. But it's a good way to start the morning
>>
>>17986182
Try jogging.
>>
How about you quit your job? That should motivate you.
Do you have enough savings to go by before you get a new job?
Maybe even some capital to try some sort of self employment?
>>
>>17986423
I had to move back in with my parents last year.

That has me depressed more than anything. And no, I can't afford to move out atm.
>>
I think I may see my doctor about antidepressants.
>>
>>17986671
Don't doit.
>>
Harden the fuck up. You work a shit job now so focus on getting some education like trade school to get you a better job or joining the army. Once you make decent money and have lots of work to do you won't have time to whine about your life.
>>
>>17986504
As >>17988513 said, if you're living with your parents I think you should take this chance to quite your job (a dead end job will do you no good!), find something else, part time, that's at least more interesting, and focus on getting some studies to do something else with your life. Or maybe learn some skill that you think will come useful in your life, something that can give you some economical benefit.
