Hey /o/, I've got a bit of a problem.
I have an 09 chevy aveo that had a bit of a timing belt mishap. I had a friend of mine change everything in the engine for about $400 (8 valves, belt, some other shit). Turns out he didn't do a very good job. Half a year later without the car being driven, we towed it to a mechanics and he charged me $850 to adjust some shit in the engine and a new battery + install. Ok, seems pretty steep. 20 miles later, camshaft went out. He wants to charge me $1500. Unfortunately it was about 2 months ago when I started driving it, but he had me believe I had a 12 month warranty under the repairs. Well, when the car went out within 12 months, he was just talking about how the warranty is on the battery he got.

your #1 mistake was letting your "friend" do a timing belt install so you could save a few bucks
it will cost you more to fix that car than you could sell it now or even sell it after you fix it
