Pretty odd question I guess

>26 years old
>Served in the military when I was 18
>Met beautiful girl A who was a couple of years older then me
>Talked to her sometimes, but didn't have the guts to ask her out
>She finished her service a few months later

>6 years and many relationships later I'm doing my M.Sc.
>Really hit it off with girl B from my lab, we become close friends
>Ask her out, she isn't interested
>Remain friends, but a lot colder than before
>A couple of months later I meet my most recent girlfriend, and at about the same time girl B leaves the lab and moves to another lab in the campus

>Last year, I suddenly meet girl girl A in my campus. I didn't even recognize her but she called me out right away
>Doing her PhD
>Still beautiful as fuck
>I don't really care because I have a girlfriend I love and am happy with
>Still keep in touch, have a few friendly talks
>Somehow girl A becomes really close friends with girl B

>A couple of months ago, break up with my girlfriend after a two year long relationship
>Still have friendly talks with girl A and girl B here and there, I know they hang out together nearly every day
>Really considering asking girl A out

Long introduction, the question is - Will it be inappropriate to ask girl B about whether girl A is seeing anyone considering that I asked her out last year?
