>Took out my first 3.5k loan
>Received 1.7k last semester, should get the other check mid spring semester
>Have been getting financial aid since I started school
>Financial aid has been 1.5k twice a semester
>Part of EOPS (disadvantaged poor people schooling program)
>Financial aid check was $54

I had about 2.5k in my bank, 1.75k was from the loan which will be spent in about 2 weeks getting myself set up for the next year

Will be talking to my financial aid office today, but so far it doesn't look like I'll have enough to cover all my bills in February

Any idea what happened? Any advice?

I have 4 friends all doing engineering in Southern California and they all have jobs and one of them is making 70k with commission this year

Thanks for the reply

I'm still a full time student, but I do extracurricular things - I'm president of my school's robotic's club and we're doing a competition with NASA right now which will open up a lot of doors to internships over the summer

The loan was for the bare-minimum to put a down payment for a trailer to live in (save money on rent in Silicon Valley), which is what gripes me. I just got approved to buy the trailer yesterday and what my loan will be spent on but I don't want to take out loans if I don't have to and assumed my financial aid would still come in

Kinda fucked up to take away someone's financial aid because they take out a loan
