Adolf Hitler didn't become leader of a nation because of his fancy mustache. Regardless of your opinion of him, he had the talent to enrapture people with his speeches and manner.

Not saying you're wrong, but part of Hitler's success was that he gave people a scapegoat for the problems Germany was facing at the time too. People were feeling vulnerable and ontologically insecure, and Hitler, by blaming the people he targeted, gave them someone to direct their negative feelings towards. It's not dissimilar to how stuff like /r9k/ and TRP appeals to guys who have been rejected by women. It provides them with validation.
