Perhaps this was an oversight on my part. I really need to remember to preface every sentence I write with a request to read the entire sentence before drawing a conclusion.

Since you opened this can of pedantry, let's go deeper. I re-read my sentence and even ran it through a grammar checker. Other than noting the passive voice in "were opposed," it checks out just fine. While I didn't exactly write the damn post with my MLA Handbook open for consultation, I stand by the sentence as is. Meanwhile, you start sentences without capitalizing the first word, use unfinished quotation marks, lose track of plurals (girls - boyfriend), use unnecessary commas, smell like a butt, and fell victim to the same passive voice problem.

You're right, I did struggle in school. Though the struggle was usually to keep from banging my head on the desk when slow-witted kids like you kept slowing everything down in the classroom. Seriously, it must have taken a concerted effort to top your initial fuck-up, but my hat is off: you did it.
