Where/how can I meet new people with similar interests? I'm a medical student and I've tried meeting people in my classes, but they're all so one dimensional and we don't have anything to talk about other than classes. I'd try to meet people at work, but I work at a library with a very low staff count so I already know everyone there, and most of us don't have a lot in common. I'd like to think I'm social capable, but I have trouble physically finding people with any similar interests, and my interests are pretty varied. I play games, golf, enjoy camping, I work on computers and race motorcycles at a local track, but not even people there are up for conversation other than 5 minute bike conversations. I don't drink so I can't just go to a bar and meet people. I'm not really sure what else to try or where to go. I've got a handful of friends I currently do shit with occasionally but would like to meet some new people I have things in common with.

This extends into dating as well, but I'd like to try and meet more people in general before dating again (I haven't dated since late high school, so several years ago), but I guess advice for meeting people with similar interests in general would carry over into meeting women with similar interests as well.

Hmmm- tough question OP. You seem to have your shit pretty sorted out. I would really look at speed dating if i was you. You may need to look at more "long term| " versions of your spare time, like joining a golf team, or a camping club where you do overnight trips. God Speed OP.
