Hey /adv/. I owe the state of kansas just under 12000 dollars. This debt is from the year 2012. What are my options about having this problem go away.. I don't understand what their statute of limitations are exactly and what they can do to me at this point. I live in texas at this point but plan to go back to visit soon. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm in Canadastan so I'm not even going to try and offer specifics, but I can tell you that if they are still sending you letters for the money, the Statute of Limitations is not going to help you.
That kind of thing only functions if there has been no regular contact for a long time (I think it is two years up here.)

they will get federal gubbmit involved and garnish any paychecks you have for the 12000 and also legal costs plus interest
