I'm 23 and I've always felt like I've let other people make decisions for me. Is it perfectly fine to feel like you don't have complete control over your life?

I can relate. Few of the good things in my life have ever been brought forth by my own hand. It's not a nice feeling, but not necessarily bad as long as you don't become complacent and make them feel as though their efforts were wasted.
If you can go for more and you want to, more power to you. Doing things by yourself makes it easier to become more adventurous.
Feeling that way means you're aware of others' influence. That is a good thing. Let it motivate you.

You do have control over your life, but life has control over your circumstances.

you never have complete control over your life, just over your reactions. you can choose how you react, or you can choose to let other people decide for you. right now you are in the latter.
and thats not bad, but its not good. its kind of like eating a twinkie. not bad on its own, but if not regulated it can lead to a disaster.
the question is, would you make different decisions if offered the chance again? or would you rather know that its your decision and not someone elses?
you can change how you react going forward.
I know that feel, and I now that I'm an adult I don't know what to do with my life and I'm just drift through life. Time is running out and I'm stuck because no one will tell me what to do every day.
Well no on has complete control over their life, accepting that is a part of maturity.

To quote Robert Webber (Juror in the movie "12 Angry Men" from 1957)
>I've built a hell of a good life without being in the driver's seat.
