Out of visual cues, what's the best way to tell apart a teenager from a young adult in public?
I need this because of reasons.
The difference between a young adult and a teenager isn't really visual, it's about life experience. There are 17 year old boys who live in situations where they basically have to raise their siblings on their own and they're pretty much adults. Then there's 25 year old who are still basically teenagers mentally.

Yeah but last weekend I ended up chatting up this really stunning, tall and bearded mild-mannered guy who seemed completely flustered with my attention (which is really hot) and then he casually mentions something that cracks up the first clue that he's motherfucking 14.
I'd like to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Browse /fa/ a bit; 20 somethings tend to dress less sporty and more effay (in Europe at least). They might also wear a watch.
Also wtf did he say that revealed that he is 14? Did he say he goes to middle school?

>They might also wear a watch.
I'm 24 and still dress sporty, but I've been wearing expensive Italian watches since I was 16.
