Practice makes perfect
If you ever find a word that you can parse through context, have a dictionary handy
It's just a matter of practice
And your text isn't particularly complex
It's just being obfuscating due to lack of context
If you read the entire novel, it'd make sense

Create a chart of every character and take notes on who they are, where they live, etc... then you'll understand them better and never mix them up.
Take notes on tone and themes.

Most people read Pride and Prejudice early on in high school, it's not a difficult book.
