Not trying to be a dick, but this is one of the worst times to go ibto graduate level math. You post doc for like 2-5 yesrs and then you're sent to visiting professor hell.

I only care about money as an extension to live. I'd be completely content working for $20k a year with a low key job I actually enjoyed. That's why I didn't choose some field I'd hate just for high paying job. I want to go to graduate school for the challenge. It sounds like a fulfilling accomplishment. Probably would stay away from academia after I graduated though.
