Anons, I have a theory.
We fall in love, because we want to compensate the character traits we lack.
Does that mean that if I get rid of all my character flaws, I will never crush on anyone?

I've got my own theory:
We fall in love because we got nothing else going on at the moment. Seriously whenever my life gets so busy I just get preoccupied with work, my hobbies, fitness, and/or school I forget about everyone but my close friends and family, sometimes forget them too.

>We fall in love, because we want to compensate the character traits we lack.
What if we simply want someone to enjoy the ride with? I wouldn't mind if my SO had the same flaws as long they are a cool person.
Sounds like you take the whole "love" shit too serious.
>if I get rid of all my character flaws
Sounds pretty much impossible, specially because some flaws are subjective and because there is always a way to improve.
Well sounds like a win win to me, might as well try.
Either you become a better person and still desire companionship (what's likely), or you just become a better person.

Love isn't even a real thing.
We are animals, we breed, we eat, we sleep. Love is just a social construct we made up to justify fucking, which became taboo in order to curb our overpopulation and consumption of resources as kids stopped dying off at rapid paces due to technological advances.

>i have a theory
thats not a theory, thats a really stupid thought, but its not a theory.
we 'fall in love' because we are biologically programmed to do it. we are designed to get the feels so we stay by them when they have a baby and we can get our baby into young adulthood.
thats literally it. don't get me wrong, its greater than the sum of its parts, but we dont fall in love with things we lack in ourselves.
look at couples. they are all way too diverse for that.
you get crushes cuz people are attractive and nice. chemistry.

Schopenhauer had a simalar theory that we don't choose our partners but we really fall in love with people that will gives us the highest chance of producing "balanced" children
I don't think character flaws can really all be corrected, nobody is perfect and flaws are relative
