Anon, 18, NJ, I currently attend university and was working full time (40hours) a week in a virtual reality arcade [pic related]. I was the only one working full-time besides the manager, $12/hr, my schedule was around my school schedule so it worked great. Have a lot of fun working with kids-parents everyone seemed to love me, was leading in sales(did not make commission because it was my first job and he decided to see how I do first). Worked for about a month then despite me doing everything was fired when I asked why V said he had "video of me stealing from the register". Never in my life have I stolen especially not from a place where I was making a killing, and it was an easy job just putting kids in a machine and picking a game for them, being nice and getting people to come into the store. V has not paid me for the 6 weeks I worked before the alleged stealing and he also refuses to show me the video of me stealing. Im 18 I do not want my parents to get involved at all what can I do, he doesn't even have to pay me the full amount of what he owes me, just something, it is the holiday season so I'm hoping he can give me enough to buy my family christmas gifts. He ignores my texts, my emails, phone calls, and he is never in the store just the manager , and he is no help at all.

TL:DR - Boss refuses to pay me for the time I worked, allegedly has a video of me stealing from register but refuses to show me video. (I did not steal anything), what can I do?

Depending on where you live, a lawyer would make short work of this obvious wrongful termination. Your boss in banking on you being a kid and not doing shit, but even if you just have a lawyer send him a certified letter will make him pay up.

Your first mistake was not doing so immediately.

Look for someone who can do it pro bono or a simple no win no fee deal. Unless your family have money, in which case pay a lawyer to prosecute him for you. Obviously you should still get him to cover all legal expenses when you win.

You're 18 OP. Consult a lawyer and pay him to basically evaluate the case and assist you in sending ex-boss a letter. Minimal cost for you which you will cover with a piece of your wages, and worst case scenario you'll have to sue and your parents will likely find out.
