I know this is a relationshit board
but since it's a higher chance of here being girls I have an issue
I am a guy and let my hair long so much it reaches my shoulders with no problem, the one issue I have with it is that it gets tangled like hell, can anyone offer some hair-care advice, I don't have decades of girl experience

Use a good conditioner. Brush when it's still slightly damp.
Guy here with hair down to his ass.
Just comb it every morning and evenings. If you can put it in a pony tail while you sleep. If it get super tangles you could use conditioner it helps loosen the knots. I've heard of people putting a bit of apple vinegar on their hair to loose knots too but never tried it. Also adding oils helps keep your hair lose and flowing.

Don't do this your hair will tear up and you'll get little short stray hairs all over your head.
Split ends and the hair shaft being....mm let's go with "rough" are why you get tangles and knots.
Get your ends trimmed regularly to keep them from getting scraggly and if you can justify the cost of it get some argan oil. A little really goes a long way so it's not like you go through it quickly but the price tags are def up there. This stuff greatly increases the amount of time you can go without needing your ends trimmed.
Dude who mentioned apple cider vinegar is spot on. Think of hair shafts as having scales similar to fish. When the hair is in bad condition these scales don't lay flat along the shaft. ACV rinse right before you get out of the shower locks in moisture and makes the scales lay flat.
These brushes are godtier for getting tangles out

A lot of it is your hair type. Mine's fine, straight and silky and even at shoulder length, it gets super tangled. It was a nightmare when I had it down to my waist, I literally couldn't wear it in anything other than a braid otherwise it would get so tangled (the main reason I cut it)

No, use a "Wet Brush" and it will work fine.

Don't use hot water- it makes your hair frizzy
towel dry gently - too rough and it'll destroy your hair
Brush when damp and tie it back when you can
