Come to your son as a man and apologize.
Tell him that you were led to believe one way and couldn't have known. Even as a father, tell him that people make mistakes and even worse mistakes to family. But forgiving one another when one does fuck up is what makes you family.

Atleast you aren't like my mother who is BFFs with my sister but never bothers talking to me. They shop, chill, talk all the time but when I ask them to come to a dinner for my bday my mom comes but is in a rush, doesnt talk and even is texting my sister.
