if there was a single point to life, then we wouldn't need so many different people.

there is no spiritual point of life, so if we want a 'point' we have to make our own. for many people it was just taking care of kids. our generation has a lot less of that, and thats not a bad thing. it means we can find greatness instead of just having a common purpose thrust upon us.

the only similarity everyone can share in the 'meaning of life' is that we are meant to find meaning. it will be different for everyone, but the journey to find it will be the same.
