Hello /adv/,
I've been dealing with some itchy scalp for some time, mild dandruff.
After trying a few different things I think the core problem is that my scalp is dried out. The rest of my skin tends to dry as well, especially during the winter, and now that my hair has started to thin somewhat I think that my scalp is getting more and more exposed to the cold air.
Does anyone know a good scalp moisturizing cream? Ideally it would also have its own hold so I can moisturize my skin and style my hair in one step. I also plan on adding tea tree oil, using the cream to dilute it.
I want to avoid a morning beauty routine, hence my effort in combining things together. If anyone has any good suggestions or different ideas I'm all ears; I haven't been able to find any kind of moisturizing hair pomade or style gel thus far. Everything supposedly moisturizes the HAIR, but I want something for the skin, specifically.

I started to use shampoo without parabin. If you can, ask your local hairdresser for advice.
I also started to use grapevine oil for my face to reduce flaking and itching.
Coconut oil m8.
Before you shampoo, massage it into your scalp in the shower. Start with your forehead and move back, focusing on the itchy areas.
After that, use a gentle shampoo like Crew daily or something. Not anything harsh like old spice or dove for men. Chemicals in shampoo can irritate the scalp.
After you shampoo, use a moisturizing conditioner, again not one with damaging ingredients.
Try to keep shampooing down to once every 2-3 days. Too much shampooing removes your hairs natural oils.

try T-SAL 3% salisylic acid
see a dermatologist
dry skin always gets worse as you get older
b&b has a good tonic leave in spray for fine hair
Have you tried Head & Shoulders dandruff (dry scalp) shampoo? I used to have bad dandruff, but it's gone after using that stuff.
Okay, avoid harsh chemicals, don't shampoo daily. I believe my current shampoo is parabin-free but I will double check.

Should I only use coconut oil before shampooing, or can I use it on other days and just leave it in?

Thanks for the recommendation, I see that it already has tea tree oil in it as well. Might pick some up.

I have used Nizoral (1% ketoconazole). It was somewhat effective but pretty harsh on my hair. I'll give Head and Shoulders a try if the moisturizers don't work.
