Robin Williams had a form of dementia which caused him to be paranoid and have hallucinations. He was initially misdiagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I think the depression was manageable for him, borderline psychosis with no cure or treatment wasn't.

I don't understand why it's so hard to tie a rope tight around your neck and cut off the carotid artery. You'll pass out in under a minute (painlessly) and you'll be dead in about 6 minutes. There must be a reason people don't do it this way.
