definetly save the compliments for later. I personally find it nice if a guy starts of with a compliment but it doesn't really help the conversation too well. You should read thier bio on their profile and bring up what they might have put about themselves. That will show them that you were actually paying attention to what they put into their bio and you're looking for something more than just a hook up rather than blatantly stating that you're not just there for a hook up.
