It was a class, dude. Who the fuck is on their toes and ready with a comeback in the middle of a fucking lecture? Personally I'd have sat there with a stupid look on my face before going DURRR, YOU TOO, because study-mode is very different from bantz-mode.

I'm not a professor or anything, but I taught plenty of classes as a TA, and I'd never have put up with anything like that. Neither would any of my actual professors. Jokes like that aren't appropriate in a classroom environment. If nothing else they're extremely distracting. The professor should have cracked down immediately, not because "oh, you might hurt poor anon's feelings!" but because "NEVER yell at another student in my classroom, ever." And the prof laughing at the joke? Absolutely unacceptable.
