Fuck /adv/, I've got a secret Santa coming up for my lacrosse club and out of 50 or so people, I get the club captain. I'm a newbie so I don't know him too well.
What relatively inexpensive gift can I get that isn't lame? Everyone is going to know what I give, so it has to have something to it.
What the price cap / min? What's he into? He got a beard?
>>17807425It depends on 2 things, both if which it's legitimate for you as a newbie to ask people about.
1. Is there a price cap?
2. Is it supposed to be a gag gift or something serious?
Assuming it is to be serious, think about something practical and sport-related, perhaps in the team colors. Hand-warmers wrapped in a team scarf. A first-aid kit.and a whistle

Price is about £10 or about 13$.
Also it doesn't have to be Anything serious, ie it could be funny or just normal stuff

What do the others josh him about? Find some twist on that. Say he's a fan of early rock'n'roll - find him a CD of "The Worst of 50s Rock". That sort of thing.

Well, I don't know, I don't know him that well since him and his friends aren't even in my team, I'm in a lower ranked one

Okay OP, burger college lacrosse goalie here. Are you guys actually good?
People enjoy gift cards but it's looked down upon like it was thoughtless.
I usually get office toys like a newtons cradle or something.
If you want to steal what I'm doing, just get a dart board from walmart, roughly $12

Probably not, most of the best players are burgers on scholarships
Get a box of donuts lol
