Im planning to propose to my gf, I don't know SHIT about rings.
I just saw some things that would look good on her on amazon. Is like an emerald a good stone fir an engagement ring? How much should I spend on it?
I just need general ring advice. Also how do I make sure the ring fits her?

Do you have a job or income ?
You are better off going to a jeweler and asking about engagement rings.
There are many styles that cover a wide range of prices.
You will need to find a way to size her ring.

Yes. A bit above the US average earning salary. I have over 20k saved in the bank from when I lived with my parents and saved money. I know I should have invested in an ira or similar earlier but I wasn't sure if I was going to need to make something like a big house down-payment, relocate, Stay or whatever.
Right now I'm just thinking for 500 to 1k for a ring makes sense?
What are your ages?
Are you sure about your decision?

If she wears rings already then just steal one go too a jeweler and ask you can always get a bigger ring and gett it resized after you give it too her

We are both around 26, and yes.
Also I just Googled and some people are saying two months salary on just a ring, is that a troll? Seems ridiculous for a meme ring.>>17805592

If your girlfriend is materialistic then, the more you spend the happier she will be.
Two months salary is utterly ridiculous in my opinion.

She thinks 40 dollar shoes are fancy so no lol
But I still don't want to get her something shitty.
Might just get her finger measurements when she's sleeping or when playing music.

What size are said emeralds on the ring ?emeralds can break easy compared to other stones like her hitting her hand against something can break an emerald, also bigger emeralds often have oils/ fillers too hide marks and lines and junk in the stone so having them as a everyday wear ring isnt the best the oils/ fillers can leach out over time from normal things like washing hands cleaning agents making it look weathered

I haven't picked one out yet, I just thought the green looked nice. Like I said idk anything about rings

Sapphires come in a lot of colors including green

Why don't you just ask her for this information? The perfect, surprise, proposal is just a Hollywood myth.

>emerald
>amazon
anon pls
seriously, dont fuck around. it has to be diamond, and you have to pick it out yourself, in person. you need to utilize what you know of her tastes and personality when you get this thing. there is an obvious component of sentimentality that you are missing here. you need to think about the statement you are making when you propose and give her a ring. you want to give her a shit ring that you got off the interweb? what does that say to her? save up. spend a few grand on an immaculately beautiful ring that you hand picked. bonus points if she doesnt have to have it resized (hint: use string or yarn to get her ring finger size while shes sleeping)
