my advice would be to try and talk to her, but i understand how some people (parents especially) don't listen to their kids. they just don't think you're an adult and capable of making your own decisions.

sit her down and have a conversation with her explaining your point of view and how important it is that you have privacy. Install a lock on your door (one with a key so you can lock when you leave). if either of these two options cause you more problems then just ride out the next six weeks and try to keep your valuables under lock and key. also learn to hide your shit better, everyone knows your sock drawer is the go to spot to hide shit. instead, try between your mattress and box spring, or remove a panel from the back of your dresser/nightstand/whatever.

i had a parent that frequently took it upon herself to search my room for drugs/clothes/whatever, and instead of trying to get her to stop i just learned to use more unconventional hiding places for my shit. at the end of the day it's her house and she can do what she pleases

Remembers of my mother going on my computer to find pictures I had put there, and she checked everything. Since I live by myself there was no need to hide my porn collection. She found it, it was awkward for all of us. I hoped she learned her lesson of wading through people's personal stuff, and what can happen if you pull those things off without anyones permission.

Despite your mom going through your personal stuff, remember she is your mom. They do mom like stuff to make sure their offspring is doing fine. Just have an adult talk with her about the situation. If that doesn't work it says something about who she is as a person.

Get a lock box. I had to do that with my brother. Then the fucker learned how to pick locks. I had to invest in an expensive lock but it certainly stopped the theft and increased my brothers stress from addictions. win win for me.
