I think my girlfriend is unhealthily obsessed with Skyrim.
Normally I wouldn't care, but she just kinda sits around all day playing Skyrim and barely talking. That pretty much goes on all day and then she comes to bed and almost immediately falls asleep. She has other games and I suggest games we can play together, but all she ever wants to do is play Skyrim. She considers it to be time that we spend together and she says that she really enjoys all of the time she spends with me, but in reality she could just be playing at home and there would be no real difference.
I've tried suggesting other games, cooking for her, bringing her snacks, and talking about random bs. She's down to watch a movie with me or go out to places for a little bit but after it's always back to Skyrim.
At this point we haven't had sex in about a month due to the ridiculous amount of time she spends playing Skyrim. The only reason I know she isn't cheating on me is because she spends all of her time at my place playing Skyrim. When she's not doing that, she's working (I drive her to and from work).
What should I do to calm her obsession with Skyrim? Should I be worried?
tl;dr: My gf never stops playing Skyrim and it's starting to get in the way. What do I do?

1. acquire a second tv
2. obtain an immersive single player game
3. set these things up adjacent to her
4. play aforementioned game beside her while she skyrims (yes, skyrim is now a verb)
5. alternate which of you has to use headphones
this may or may not work for you, but i would love to find someone that would be content with this. i am the type that would rather spend downtime playing vidya than watching tv/movies 99% of the time, and it seems your gf may share this mindset
This is a hilarious situation

It's not just that. Her obsession is kinda freaking me out, too. She has referred to sneezing and coughing as "using the voice" and she refers to her in-game kids as if they were actually her children. It's unnerving.
Wait for her to finish it, including the side quest. That's like 150+ hours of game time. She'll have nothing else to do with it after.

It keeps getting better
Tell me more please

ok now i know this is b8. this is the last (You) youll get from me

she's addicted to playing skyrim because of the novelty. This will pass as soon as she has finished everything in the game.
Don't try to take the game away from her or limit her time playing it, she will resent you for it because she is addicted to playing.
My bf was addicted to runescape and he eventually got bored of it after a few months.

She's an artist and all of her drawings lately have been of Skyrim things (if she draws at all).
She also has a dog in real life who she's left at her parents, and she spends more time with her Skyrim dog than her real one.
She also sometimes responds out loud to what people in the game say as if they could hear her.

Not b8.

Are you dating my ex?
Girls love skyrim. I wonder why.
>>17801898
where does she work op?
>>17802003
What's her name?

Because they've been brainwashed by feminists into thinking that they're oppressed and Skyrim is an immersive power fantasy.
Just tell her that people only play it for the porn mods. Because they do.

Her name is Arianna, but I know she currently works at a laundromat/dry cleaning place so it's a different person.
Funny coincidence though. I used to pick her up from her parents house everyday then she would sit in my room and play Skyrim all day while I was at uni and at work. Never really had the sex problem though. She would take a break every time I got home from wherever I was and would.... make sure I was nice and relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Ah then no it's not her, lol.
The sex problem is related to her depression as well. About two weeks ago she stopped taking all of her medication and apparently is also dealing with SSRI withdrawals. I don't think her increased time playing Skyrim is connected with that, though, since her withdrawal symptoms only pop up when she gets frustrated and she gets pretty frustrated playing Skyrim.

Having a gf who is suffering from depression is never easy anon. If she has stopped taking her medication, it's most likely only going to get worse. Did she give a reason or just decide to stop?
>>17802072
She doesn't want to be dependent on pills.
>>17802079
Well I guess the real question you gotta ask is if she's worth this bullshit
>>17801898
Take turns playing.
Like others said, let her finish the game.
Im a girl that played skyrim too and had to play it whenever possible because there was so much to do (especially with mods), but once it was over i never touched it again.
