Join clubs and make friends, go out and get drunk with them once in a while. Focus on your studies, thats what you're there for, enjoy things man

I've looked through all the clubs my uni offers and none of them interest me.
My few close friends are content with staying in every night and keeping other social contact to a minimum.
I did go out to a few parties during the first few weeks and did enjoy it. I've always like things like that.
But that was during the period where people rush frats and sororities so they pretty much let anyone in.
I didn't want to join a frat this first semester so I could stay focused on school but if I had known that joining could've given me the chance of being happy every so often, I would've joined in a heartbeat.

It is also very hard for me to focus on anything when I'm this depressed. I lose all motivation.

Im 34 and that doesn't ever go away. Sorry to say OP. You're likely predisposed to depression or mental illness.
Nothing I've done or accomplished makes me feel better. I've been married, college diploma, have a good paying job, have people that care about me, get fucked all the time. Still all feels the same. Like... nothing. The exact same i felt when i was sleeping on peoples couches and working as a grocery clerk. Not sure what's wrong with me. I often thought maybe a head injury or asperger's. Just jaded probably. Hopefully you find what makes you feel fulfilled and turn it around.

As another freshman on college I'm going to tell you to grow the fuck up.
