Sup anons, I'm here seeking advice for pc's.
I need a basic pc for watching YouTube, and simple tasks like this. I don't really do any gaming on my pc. What do you all suggest I buy ?
Note: I prefer Windows to Mac's.

Way over the fucking top.

Either this or basically any somewhat modern laptop with SSD. Extra points if it has a hi res screen.

Seriously, chromebooks are literally designed for light, internet-centric use. If you need a Facebook/YouTube machine there's no reason to spend a bunch of money getting something else.

They usually have shit-tier storage, a very limited OS (unless you put something else on it) and the screens are pure cancer. It's worth spending a bit more to get at least 1080p.

This is all true. But, again, if he's just using it for the internet then he doesn't need a high resolution display or a ton of storage. There are models that have decent screens and they're all perfectly capable of emailing and youtubing and the like. If he needs to type up a resume or something he can do it on Google Docs.
If he wants to move on from Chrome later, he can do what I did and run Lubuntu or something.

Honestly, even just for browsing, a high res screen is godly, besides IPS stuff got damn nicer colors and viewing angles. Not something overly noticeable if you only had TN cancer but once you go there, it's a pain to go back.
In the end it's all about budget, if he needs something for very basic stuff and got a limited budget, Chromebooks are perfect. If the budget isn't that limited, it's worth going for something better.
