I don't know where to post this. I read an article from bout a month ago that said that 4chan's financial struggles may lead to the website being shutdown. Is this true? I'm only a 18 year old newfag here and I don't want this place to be shut down because I think I've found a community that I can call home.

Look at the bottom of this page. In the past month they've loaded 4chan up with tons of new ads. If you want to help, click on an ad every time you open a page - they get paid for click-thoughs.
