I'd suggest talking to someone about that, because you're not likely to even have any offspring if thats all you think about or is the most important thing about your relationship, and you certainly will not be a good parent.

We have the technology to eradicate mitochondrial diseases at least, while still maintaining the biological ownership between the 2 parents. Big stink about these scientists "playing god" and that this will most certainly lead to us creating "designer children" with hand picked traits.

but if you fuck up by marrying someone you don't love 100% and having kids with them, and your kid grows up to become some sociopath or useless limb of society, then that's on you.

so if i'm gonna raise my kid, s/he's gonna at least have parents that love him/her regardless of what happens to them genetically, because it'll help their chance at surviving a world that will NEVER be perfect.
