Hey /adv/ as a 25 year old virgin with massive insecurity issues around women due to it should I hire an escort to get it over with? I have the money, wonder if it would help at all...?
Yeah it's pathetic but idgaf if it helps me in the long run as seeing sex as not such a big deal. I've developed a huge mental block over it. I've literally gotten panic attacks when making out before and thus have never done the deed. Don't do it. Your real problems have nothing to do with sex and everything to do with your self esteem and insecurities about yourself.
It'd be one thing if you had no problem meeting women, dating women, bonding with and relating to women, etc., but freaked out in the bedroom. But that's not where you're at.
Hiring an escort is going to exacerbate the problem by encouraging you to keep thinking that it's about sex when it's not. It's going to reinforce this idea you have that women are somehow "different" or alien or "other", instead of realizing that they're just like you, with inner lives and insecurities and shit, except with different body parts. It's gonna make you even less able to treat them in a way that allows for real relationships.

Hey thanks for the perspective from someone that has actually done this. I'm going to seek therapy for my issues. My friends all tell me I'm awesome and interesting etc but i have such cripplingly low self esteem that i just dont believe it, and automatically doubt any compliments or hints of attraction coming my way. Just this past weekend I had a girl literally throwing myself at me but couldnt bring myself to do anything about it. Was beating myself up over it for days
