That wouldn't feel right because most men could overpower me in a matter of seconds and I would know they're just pretending to respect me as their superior. Not normal at all. Having said that I agree that it's probably a psychological thing. Penises aren't inherently more powerful than pussies, they are external thus more vulnerable to being hurt, and they are more quickly impaired if the guy's nervous/drunk/whatever to the point of not cooperating. So I think it is more that you see it as the symbol of masculinity and shit men can do but you (feel like you) can't.

I think it's an outlet for you because you are frustrated with how others perceive you and/or how you perceive yourself... which you also allude to yourself at the end of your post.
