I don't care about all the bullshit classes like public speaking or health if I'm going to do computer science. I feel like they only have them so we have to pay more money. I had no idea there would be so much time wasting bullshit. Isn't there a way to learn what I'm going to ACTUALLY use? Call me autistic for not wanting to complete busy work, but it blows my mind that these classes are needed.
Is there a way around this?
The point of these classes being mandatory is not to learn the actual material, but expanding your skillset. No one wants to hire someone who only knows how to program. Honestly, if you can't work that out on your own, you probably shouldn't be in college.

Ah, I now see why Health is important to have.
For the workplace, of course.

This. My uni has a program with stuff like environmental care, life in modern society, etc that were made because, as a professor said
>we were making a lot of engineers that were pretty capable of solving stuff but weren't good at interacting with others. They were basically machines that fixed machines by themselves and that's useless in society
Fuck, I even took a Spanish and an English course because even after 15 years of mandatory education, people cannot write a coherent paper with proper grammar.

I find it unfair that it is mandated, however. I understand that some people may not function well in society, but shouldn't they take it upon themselves to learn how to write a paper?
Most if the gen ed classes are clones of other classes. Public speaking is really just an English class where you read. Nothing so far has actually been taught about public speaking. The people who were bad at it are still just as bad, and there has been no improvements at all. Yet, I'm forced to waste my time on these expensive classes.

>>Have no motivation to work on classes that have no importance whatsoever
ALL your classes have great importance. Failing enough of them will make it impossible for you to take the courses you like. That should be enough motivation.
>>Failing calculus because I have nobody to study with
Millions of people get through college without study buddies. Find another excuse.
