basically yeah. outside of that a phone is good to start, even most modern cloggers start with their phones or something similar, as long as you dont have a potato phone its fine. just know that using the camera on the front of your phone (the screen) is insanely low quality compared to the one on the back of your phone.

for example my back camera is 18 megapixels. the front camerai s 2.

this is why selfies tend to be lower quality, cuz htey're trying to see themselves and have to use the shit camera
