How is that feeling called, when you don't want to pursue anything, because you don't see the end result. Or when you see the end result, it doesn't excite you. Or when you see the end result, it excites you, but the actual work you have to put in order to achieve it is daunting and about to kill anyone in the process. And even if you take on that road, you still aren't sure you are ever gonna make it out to the end point.

defeatism I guess..
Unwillingness.
By the way, this sounds like a bad-fucking ass movie quote.

No, defeatism implies that you feel defeated because you have bad psychology. This is not about low self-esteem, it is about that feeling you get in the process, when you are about to take on something you want (think you want) and struggle to get it.

when you can't care about the process or the product, it's apathy.
When you desire the result, but dread the process, it's procastination powered by anxiety.

Cowardice.

How does anxiety fit in there and what does power it?

Anxiety is a stress response to unpleasant situations, like that sheer uncertainty you speak of.
You're more likely to procrastinate if you see a job as difficult, unpleasant, or just feel inadequate about your ability to see the job through.
