How do I start a conversation with people?
Never really picked up the skill, and I've always gotten the impression just saying hello to people at random was not socially acceptable.
dude fuck people don't talk to them don't trust them don't make friends with them people are the worst and i should know cause im a people
Small talk
>Hey I bought this thing, have you ever used thing?
>I bumped into this one person and told me this
>Where do you live? I'm planning on moving to PLACE but I'm not sure if it's a good place

See this is where I get stuck. Like the first one, should I just walk up to someone in a store and say that or something?
Second one I kind of see, though, so if it every applies: thanks.

All about practice, and situation.
Start going to bars and sitting down next to someone, anyone - and allow conversation to happen.
Start talking about beer, about your city, anything man. You'll get better and better as time goes on.

Depending on the venue and the situation. For some reason people find it weird interacting with other people while doing their everyday stuff. After a few minutes they usually act friendly.
Because of my job I have to talk to people I
a: Dont like
b: Find boring
C: Don't feel or want to talk to

I do appreciate, and if I lag behind another year I'll be sure to use it. But I'm 20, can't go into bars. Plus I don't like alcohol.

Ah, well thats gonna suck to learn. I'm not good at picking up on shit like that. Hope I don't irritate too many people. Thanks mate.

You don't need to drink alcohol if you don't like it, though it usually take a few drinks until you find something that you like. Also you don't necessarily have to drink until getting piss drunk, only idiots do that.

You don't talk to people at random. You talk to people with whom you have some connection, however tenuous, and begin with that connection
Someone in your class "How did you do on the test?"
Someone at work "Tough day, huh?"
Someone on line at a concert "How long have you been a fan?"
Someone you see on the bus every morning "God, traffic is worse than ever today"
