When I was in high school, there was this girl who OBVIOUSLY liked me. I mean she constantly stared at me, talked with me ALL THE TIME, etc.
Me having no self esteem + being clueless led to me not realising it.

What you describe I would place in the second category. If he was repulsed or didn't want you he would avoid you.
